Lisbon Portela Airport lies 7km from the city centre. It has two passenger terminals: Terminals 1 and 2. Terminal 1 is the largest and is used by all airlines while Terminal 2 serves exclusively low-cost airlines. A free shuttle bus connects both terminals every 10 minutes. The airport has free, unlimited Wi-Fi service.
Lisbon Airport isn't far from the city, and your journey in should be painless. Although the taxi journey is short, travellers recommend using public transport, as some have had problems with taxi drivers overcharging.
Take the Metro's Red Line to get to the financial centre (Saldanha station) in 20 minutes, or the city centre (Baixa-Chiado) in 30 minutes. Trains leave every six to nine minutes from 06:30-01:00.
Cost: EUR 1.40 one-way, EUR 6 day-pass
Buying tickets: Be aware that machines only accept coins and EUR 5 and EUR 10 notes.
You can take two lines to the city centre:
Cost: EUR 3.50
The taxi journey to the city shouldn't be expensive and takes only 15 minutes or so. But, to avoid any problems with overcharging, get a pre-paid taxi voucher from the Tourist Information desk. Uber is also available here.
Cost: EUR 15-20 plus extra for luggage (EUR 23 for a taxi voucher)
Location: For a cheaper journey, take a taxi from outside Departures rather than Arrivals
