Getting around the airport

Two terminals

Brisbane Airport is located 13km northeast from Brisbane city centre. The airport has two passenger terminals: the International Terminal and the Domestic Terminal. The terminals are 3km apart.

  • The International Terminal has four levels. Level 1 houses Customs & Quarantine & Inspection Services; Level 2 is the Arrivals level; Level 3 holds the Departure lounge; Level 4 is the Departures Check-in floor.
  • The Domestic Terminal has two levels and is divided into three separate areas: the north end serves Qantas and Qantaslink, the south end serves Virgin Australia, and the centre is a common user section with carriers such as Jetstar and Tiger Airways. Level 1 is the entrance to the Qantas Valet and the Skywalk to car parks, rental cars, and Airtrain. Level 2 houses shops and departures.
  • Free Wi-Fi is available at Brisbane Airport for 3 hours. Internet kiosks are available on Levels 2, 3, and 4 of the International Terminal. Rate is AUD 2 for 20 minutes.
  • Baggage trolleys in the International Terminal are free of charge. In the Domestic Terminal, the fee is AUD 4.

Getting Between Terminals

Train or bus is necessary

The terminals at Brisbane airport are located 3km apart and walking is not practical as there is no pedestrian walkway.

Airtrain

Offers connections during the day every 15-30 minutes. Train fare is AUD 5 or AUD 4.50 if you book online in advance. The trip takes 2 minutes. Fare is included with Virgin Australia and Qantas when connecting between their flights.

Services operate every 20 minutes from outside the arrivals halls of both terminals. All trips are AUD 5. It also serves the airport village.

Getting into Brisbane

Different good options

Airtrain

The Airtrain offers services between both airport terminals, Brisbane City, and the Gold Cost. Travel time to Central Station in Brisbane is 24 minutes and costs AUD 17. The journey between terminals takes 2 minutes and tickets cost AUD 5. Passengers flying with Virgin Australia ride free between terminals.

Bus

Con-x-ion Airport Transfers meet every flight arriving into Brisbane Airport. They offer door-to-door coach service from the airport to Brisbane city, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast. Book transfers at the customer service counter. Prices to Brisbane city start at AUD 15; to Gold Coast from AUD 49.
