Cairo International Airport is the international airport of Cairo and the busiest airport in Egypt. It is located in Heliopolis, 15 kilometers to the northeast of the Cairo.

Terminal 1: Serves both regional and international traffics.
Terminal 2: As a regional hub, Terminal 2 is operating jointly with Terminal 3, as one integrated terminal via an air bridge, thus, reinforcing the role of the airport.
Terminal 3: Operates both international and domestic flights and has 23 gates along with a check-in island consisting of 110 counters.

Shuttle Bus

Runs a door to door shared shuttle service to Heliopolis, Nasr City, Cairo city center, Giza, Mohandesin, Zamalek, Maadi & the Pyramids area. Using this service avoids the inevitable problems of overcharging, common amongst Egyptian taxi drivers. To buy the ticket, they have desks in Terminals 1 and 2, arrivals. Pay at the desk and then proceed to the bus stop.

Cost: To Downtown Cairo EGP 55 and takes about 45 mins
Location: in front of terminals buildings
Operating hours: 24 hours

Taxi

At a higher cost, taxi services are also available to take you to different destinations. Official Cairo taxis are Black and white, or just black, and are usually not air-conditioned. Increasingly, yellow air-conditioned taxis are becoming available.

Cost: To Downtown Cairo EGP 70-80 and takes about 30 mins (depending on the road condition)
