One main terminal with four levels

William P. Hobby Airport is an international airport located 7 miles from downtown Houston. The airport consists of one main terminal.

  • Level 1 is Arrivals with baggage claim and ground transportation.
  • Level 2 is Check-In and Departures. This terminal leads to all gates, Red Parking Garage and the ecopark.
  • Level 3 leads to the bridge to Blue Garage.
  • Level 4 is the Blue Garage.

Getting into Houston

Bus

Houston's William P. Hobby is served by Houston METRO Bus 40 which travels to downtown Hoston and then the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Location: Main Terminal, before security, lower level, outside baggage claim, Curb Zone 3
Cost: USD 1.25 per ride 

Taxi

All destinations within Houston’s city limits to/from Hobby Airport are charged according to the flat Zone Rate or meter rate, whichever is less. The journey takes 25-35 minutes. A surcharge of USD 1.25 applies for a departure fee, and an additional surcharge of USD 1.00 applies for late-night trips between 20:00-06:00 daily.

Rideshare

Layover option

1940 Air Terminal Museum

The 1940 Air Terminal Museum is on the site of the original art-deco Houston airport terminal. The museum is located on the west side of Hobby Airport and showcases the city’s rich civil aviation heritage. The museum is less than 10 minutes away by taxi. Admission is USD 5 for adults and USD 2 for children.

We recommend a minimum 4 hour layover for a visit to collect your bags, see the museum, and get back in time to go through security.

The airport is serviced by eight major rental car companies from convenient pick up and drop off locations. Booths are located in the baggage claim area in the lower level. Buses and shuttle vans operate between the terminal and the car company sites.
