Durham Tees Valley Airport (previously Teesside Airport) is located in North Yorkshire, 39km south of Durham, 16km south-west of Middlesbrough and 9km east of of the town of Darlington.
It's a tiny airport serving only a few destinations: mainly Amsterdam (KLM Cityhopper), Jersey (Flybe) and Aberdeen (Eastern Airways). Eastern Airways connects from Aberdeen to Stornaway and Wick John O'Groats in Scotland, and Bergen and Stavanger in Norway.
All facilities are airside, with just one shop (WHSmith) and an airport café. There's also an airside Swissport Executive Lounge, costing GBP 18.95.
Note: Unusually, you need to pay a 'passenger facilitation fee' of GBP 6 for adults and GBP 2 for children aged 3-15 before you can enter the departure lounge. You can pay at machines in the check-in area (cash or card)
You will find car rental agenicies in the arrivals area of the airport, provided by Europcar, Hertz, Enterprise, Avis and Budget.
You can book a car at the airport, or save money by booking online before you travel.
Transport links aren't great from this airport. Here are your options.
