Getting around the airport

One main terminal with four concourses

Nashville International Airport is about 8 miles east of downtown Nashville. It takes approximately 15 minutes to get to downtown. The airport has one main terminal, the Robert C. H. Mathews Jr. Terminal, with Concourses A through D. Concourse D is currently undergoing an expansion.

  • Level 1 is the ground transportation level, which has rental car facilities, taxis and buses.
  • Level 2 is the Arrivals level with baggage claim and passenger pickup.
  • Level 3 is the Ticketing and Departures level with check-in facilities and a common security checkpoint. It also offers concessions, a business centre, and a chapel. After security Concourses A and B are to the right, Concourse C is to the left.
  • Concourse A serves Frontier and United Airlines and has international arrival facilities. Concourse B serves Alaska, Delta, Boutique Air, and OneJet Airlines. Concourse C serves Air Canada, American, and Southwest Airlines. Concourse C has the largest shopping and dining area.

Getting into Nashville

Bus, shuttle or taxi

Bus

The MTA Bus route 18 runs between the airport and downtown Music City. Buses leave every hour to hour and a half and the journal to the city centre takes 30 to 40 minutes depending on whether it’s an express bus and traffic. Schedules are available in the Welcome Center on the baggage claim level.

Shuttle

The Nashville Express Airport Shuttle provides a door-to-door service to all Nashville suburbs as well as to downtown and West End hotels.

Location: Main Terminal, before security, level 1, ground transportation area the outside terminal
Cost: USD 29 one-way, USD 58 return (1 person), USD 16 per passenger one-way, USD 32 per passenger return (2 people)

Taxi

Taxis are available on a 24-hour basis. All taxis are metered and reservations are not required. Starting fare is USD 7 plus USD 2.10 per mile.

Cost: USD 25 to downtown and the Opryland area
