Getting around the airport


San Jose International Airport is located near downtown San Jose. It has two terminals, Terminal A and Terminal B.

  • The terminals are connected by an airside walkway and by a free landside shuttle stopping at each terminal, the Rental Car Center, and Daily Lot 4 (parking) at marked locations. arriving every 10-15 minutes, from 02:30-01:00 daily.
  • Terminal A receives all International Arrivals (Level 1); Level 2 houses security checkpoint for Departures, as well as access to boarding area, and food and retail shops.
  • Terminal B is the new terminal. Level 1 is arrivals and a USO facility and Level 2 houses Departures, with security and gates. Gates 17-28 are located in a North Concourse.
  • Baggage Cart rentals by Smart Carte cost USD 5 (Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Debit Card accepted).
  • The airport offers fast, free Wi-Fi.

Getting into San Jose

Getting to and from the airport


The Valley Transportation Authority Bus #10 goes from the airport terminals to the Caltrain Santa Clara Station and the Metro/Airport Light Rain Train Station. The Eastbound bus goes towards the LRT station while the Westbound train heads to the Caltrain station first. Buses are free; the LRT costs USD 3.75 for a single journey while day passes can be purchased for USD 7.50. Total travel time to downtown can take about 45 minutes due to connections.

Taxis are available at the airport for on-demand service. They are accessible from Terminal A and Terminal B Arrivals exits. All trips from SJC are a minimum USD 15, which includes the first 3 miles of travel and a USD 1.50 airport fee.

Travel time from SJC to Mountain View is about 14 minutes, 20 minutes to Palo Alto - with no traffic.
SFO is no less then 40 minutes away. This can double during rush hour.

Terminal B Power Suite

Twenty-five percent of seats in Terminal A and B have electrical outlets and USB ports on the armrests for charging laptops and handheld devices. Terminal B has a ‘Power Suite’ with seating for 150 people and workstations with built-in power outlets.

Car rental

The Rental Car Center is located across from Terminal B. Terminal B passengers can walk across Airport Drive at the crosswalks from baggage claim to reach the Rental Car Center. Terminal A passengers may take any blue airport shuttle bus to or from the Rental Car Center.

The Club at SJC
