The Robert Hawaii Express Shuttle departs within 20 minutes of check-in with Shuttle Attendant at pickup zone. Transfer rates include 2 pieces of luggage, any additional luggage is USD 6 per piece.

Taxi

Taxi service is available on the centre median curb in front of the terminal baggage claim areas. Look for taxi dispatchers (yellow shirts with black lettering) for service.

Cost: USD 40-50 plus a USD 0.50 charge per bag

Bus

TheBus is an island-wide bus that serves Honolulu International Airport. Bus Route No. 19 (Eastbound: Downtown Honolulu-Waikiki; Westbound: Airport-Hickam Air Force Base), No. 20 (Eastbound: Downtown Honolulu–Waikiki; Westbound: Airport-Arizona Memorial-Aloha Stadium-Pearlridge Shopping Center), and No. 31 (Kalihi Transit Center).

Location: All terminals, before security, second level, roadway along the centre median, follow the signs
Cost: USD 2.50 one-way 
Operating hours: every 30 minutes

Getting around the airport

Three terminals and a free shuttle bus

Honolulu International Airport is located 10 miles from Waikiki and six miles from downtown Honolulu. The airport has three terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

Terminal 1: 

- Mainly serves inter-island, some US mainland flights and departing international flights of Hawaiian Airlines
- Houses Gates A13-A20

Terminal 2:

- Serves US domestic and international flights
- Houses 3 concourses: The Diamond Head Concourse (Gates G1-G6), Ewa Concourse (Gates C1-C9) and the Central Concourse (Gates E1-E10) as well as Gates F1-F2 and D1-D2

Terminal 3:

- Serves flights of Mokulele Airlines 
- Houses Gate H1

Transferring between terminals

The airport offers free Wiki Wiki shuttle service from Terminal 3 to Terminals 1 and 2 for Mokulele Airlines passengers with a connecting flight on another airline. The shuttle service route will extend around Terminals 1, 2 and 3 approximately every 20 minutes.

If you have some extra time, we recommend visiting the Airport Cultural Gardens. There are three beautifully designed outdoor gardens, representing the heritage of Hawaii’s most influential cultures. You will find Japanese, Chinese, and Hawaiian gardens—all wonderful places to enjoy some sunshine, have a lunch, or take photos.
