International Terminals 1 and 2 are separated by a distance of several kilometres. Bus number 600 runs between both terminals every 30 minutes but the best way to make the connection is via a taxi from outside the terminal. This should cost no more than a few Turkish lira.
If you need to purchase something you can’t take through security, be sure to do it after the gate checks. All Turkish airports have centralised security so there is a control to go through upon entering the airport and before making your way to the gate.
It was a long flight and sleeping in the airport awaiting a connecting flight is a terrible experience. There are two hotels near Antalya Airport. The IC Airport Hotel is located 800m from Terminal 1. Rooms start at €105 per night. The Antalya Farm House is lovely bed and breakfast 5 minutes away from the airport. The Farm House costs €45-€55 per night, depending on the season and airport transfers can be arranged
Passengers have reported that Antalya has a very disorderly queuing system for checking into flights, which results in a lot of pushing and queue-jumping. Airport officials reckon you should arrive three hours prior to your flight in order to make it through the check-in and two security screenings before boarding.
Even when travelling economy, you can join the lounge with a day pass. The lounge is equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, beverages and a television. Passes cost £20 for a 3-hour time-frame when pre-booked online.
