Guararapes - Gilberto Freyre International Airport lies 14km from the city centre of Recife, Brazil. It is named after the Guararapes Battle, which took place near the area the airport is located, and after Gilberto Freyre, a sociologist who was born in Recife. The airport consists of one modern terminal building, having both Arrivals Area and Departures Area in it. The terminal has a wide range of shopping and eating options, including a food-court. The different levels in the terminal hall are connected with stairs, escalators and elevators. 

• Sala VIP Casablanca Recife, domestic terminal, airside, next to A4 exit. Hours: 6:00-23:00 Mon-Fri, 8:00-14:00 Sat, closed on Sunday.
• Sala VIP Luck Viagens, domestic terminal, landside, next to gate 5. Hours: 6:00-00:00 Mon-Fri, 6:00-23:00 Sat-Sun.
• Sala VIP Lounge Pontestur, domestic terminal, airside, next to gate 6. Hours: 4:00-22:00 daily.
• Sala VIP Proair, international terminal, airside, in front of gate 16. Hours: 6:00-21:00 daily.

• Confidence Cambio, landside, ground floor. Hours: available 24h.
• Europa Cambio e Turismo, landside, ground floor. Hours: available 24h.

You will find car hire agencies in the arrivals area of the airport, provided by Movida, Localiza, Unidas and Avis. 

You can book a car at the airport, or save money by booking online before you travel.
