Taxi

Taxis are available outside the terminal. Taxis must be metered, but majority of them do not have meters. Always agree on a price or make sure that the meter is running before you get into a cab. Don't take any taxis on the street, call a taxi if you can or take taxis from known places such as airport or commercial centers.

Bus

It is the cheapest way to get into the city. However, the local bus system is confusing. The bus is a safe way to travel around Guayaquil.

José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport is located 5km north of the city centre of Guayaquil in the province of Guayas. It is Ecuador's second busiest airport. It consists of a modern terminal which opened in 2006, serving both domectic and international flights. The terminal is divided into two areas:

• Departures Hall
• Arrivals Hall

• Aeropuertos VIP Club, international terminal, airside, next to gate 8. Hours: 4:00AM-12:00AM daily. 
• Diamond Club, international terminal, airside, next to gate 7. Hours: 4:00AM-1:30AM daily. 
• Aeropuertos VIP Club, national terminal, departure area. Hours: 6:00-20:00 daily.
• Tame Sala VIP, natinal terminal, departure area. 

You will find car hire agencies on the ground floor, arrivals area. The following car hire companies are available: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and Thrifty. 

You can book a car at the airport, or save money by booking online before you travel.
