Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport - YOW

Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport is six miles from downtown Ottawa. The airport has a single terminal with three levels:

• Level 1 is the arrivals and baggage claim level with baggage carousels
• Level 2 is the secured area with access to Gates 1-28, express check-in and airline lounges
• Level 3 houses check-in counters for domestic and international flights, with a separate area for US Customs clearance; a food court; observation area; as well as access to Gates 1-18

Bus

The OC Transpo Route 97 offers express service between the airport and downtown Ottawa. The bus stops at major hubs around the city, including bus stations and the O-Train. Bus tickets are available at the ground transportation desk near the central door of the Level 1 arrivals area. Bus run every 10-30 minutes, 24 hours daily; the journey takes approximately half an hour.

Taxi

Licensed taxi vehicles pick up passengers from level 1, arrivals and drop-off passengers at level 3, departures.

If you are traveling to the US, do your eating and drinking as well as your shopping before security. Options afterwards are very, very limited.

Walking over to the car park and rental car building on the arrivals level takes you outside. Especially in the fierce winter time or when it is pouring rain, use the covered walkway on the second floor/departures level. Simply take the lift upstairs at either end of the arrivals hall, walk across the street nice and warm and take the lift down to the rental car level.

Get yourself tuned in for your trip with an authentic Italian espresso. The Local also offers local patries and local ale as well as other snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
