Getting around the airport

Two terminals

San Jose International Airport is located near downtown San Jose. It has two terminals, Terminal A and Terminal B.

  • Terminal A receives all International Arrivals. Level 1 houses arrivals, ticketing, and baggage claim. Level 2 houses a security checkpoint for departures, the boarding area, and food and retail shops as well as parking and ground transportation.
  • Terminal B is the new terminal. Level 1 is arrivals and a USO facility and Level 2 houses departures, with security and gates. 

Transferring between terminals

The terminals are connected by an airside walkway and by a free landside shuttle stopping at each terminal, the Rental Car Center, and Daily Lot 4 (parking) at marked locations. arriving every 10-15 minutes, from 02:30-01:00 daily.

Getting into San Jose

Bus or taxi

Bus

The Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Bus #10 goes from the airport terminals to the Caltrain Santa Clara Station and the Metro/Airport Light Rail Train Station. The Eastbound bus goes towards the LRT station while the Westbound train heads to the Caltrain station first. Total travel time to downtown can take about 45 minutes due to connections.

Cost: Bus is free, Light Rail Train is USD 2.25 one-way, USD 7 all-day pass, Caltrain is USD 3.75 one-way, USD 7.50 all-day pass 

Taxi

Taxis are available at the airport for on-demand service. Travel time from SJC to Mountain View is about 14 minutes and 20 minutes to Palo Alto.

Power Charging Options

Terminal B Power Suite

Twenty-five percent of seats in Terminal A and B have electrical outlets and USB ports on the armrests for charging laptops and handheld devices. Terminal B has a ‘Power Suite’ with seating for 150 people and workstations with built-in power outlets.

Terminal B, after security, opposite Gate 18

Newly designed Terminal B of ‘Silicon Valley’s Airport’ has the best access to electronic charging. All chairs in the new terminal have power outlets and USB ports on the armrests for charging laptops and handheld devices.

There are massage chairs available in Terminal A to help you relax before your flight. The chairs cost USD 5 for 30 minutes.

There is a shower facility at The Club at SJC Lounge. Towels, shampoo, and soap are provided as a complimentary service with a day pass.
