Bergamo / Orio al Serio Airport - BGY

Bergamo, Italy (IT)

Getting around the airport

Single terminal

Bergamo's Orio al Serio Airport lies a distance of almost 50km from Milan (and 8km from Bergamo). Despite its increasing workload, the airport is quite small, with only one passenger terminal on two floors. However, there are enough cafés and shops to keep you busy while you wait for your flight. Check-in desks and the security check are on the ground floor. After security, there are 23 gates. Gates 1-11 are on the ground floor, and Gates 12-23 are on the first floor.

Tip: As the airport can get overcrowded at peak times, we recommend booking access to the VIP Lounges or using the Fast Track lines.

VIP Lounges

Excellent value lounges

If you want to relax in between flights or before boarding, we highly recommend going to one of the two VIP Lounges at the airport.

Considering the lack of electrical outlets, Wi-Fi, seating, and food options throughout the airport, your money will be well spent. You will also be entitled to Fast Track service through the security controls. The price includes admission to lounges before and after security. The maximum stay in the lounges is 3 hours.

Cost: EUR 22 online or EUR 24 at airport ticket office counters

Location:
Main Terminal, before security, departures, next to the security checks
Main Terminal, after security, departures, in the shopping area of the boarding gates

Opening hours:
Before security: 04:30-20:00 daily
After security: 05:00-22:00 daily

Getting into Milan

Take the shuttle bus

Milan is over 50 kilometers away from Bergamo airport and taxis can be expensive. The cheapest and most convenient way to get into the city is the Terravision shuttle bus. Trains run from Bergamo rail station, but you will have to get a bus there first.

Bus

Terravision buses run from the airport to Milan city every 20-30 minutes. Journey time is around 60 minutes. (You can also take the Orioshuttle bus, which can be handy if there's a queue for Terravision.)

Cost: EUR 6 one way, EUR 12 return
Location: Arrivals area, bus parking, bus stop no. 1
Buying tickets: On the bus or online before you travel

Tip: Alternatively, you can conveniently purchase your official ticket for Autostradale shuttle buses to Milan city centre here.

Taxi

If you'd rather take a taxi, make sure you take a licensed taxi with a sticker saying 'Taxi autorizzato per il servizio aeropuertale lombardo'. This guarantees that the taxi driver will charge you the standard airport fare. Taxis without this license may charge double. You can also pre-book a taxi here

Cost: Around EUR 80
Location: Outside Arrivals

Going to Bergamo?

The ATB bus network runs a regular service to Bergamo. Take the Bus #1 outside the airport to Bergamo train station in Piazza Marconi, the lower part of town, the funicular station or to the upper town Città Alta. Buses run every 30 minutes from 06:00-24:00 and journey time is 10-15 minutes.

Cost: EUR 2.30
Buying tickets: Buy before boarding at the tourist office or at kiosks within the airport
