Getting around the airport

One main terminal

EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg is an international airport located in France, 3.5 km northwest of Basel, 20 km southeast of Mulhouse, and 46 km southwest of Freiburg im Breisgau. The EuroAirport is a single terminal building with four levels and a Y-shaped gate area. The area before security is divided into a French and Swiss part.

  • Level 1 is the basement level with access to the central car park.
  • Level 2 is the ground level with arrivals and baggage carousels. 
  • Level 3 is the check-in area, divided into Swiss and French sectors. Check-in counters and cross-border passageway can be found here.
  • Level 4 is the departures level and is divided in Schengen and Non-Schengen zones. Duty-free shops, airline lounges, and security check are here. The gate area features gates 1-2, 20-46, 60-61 and 78-87 of which gates 22-32 are used for non-Schengen flights.

Getting into town

Taxi or bus

There is no direct train connection to the EuroAirport. To get to Basel Central Train Station take bus no 50 and change into the railway. 

Bus

  • Basel: Bus #50 runs from Euro Airport to Basel Railway Station on the Swiss side. The journey time is around 20 minutes and it costs CHF 4.70 one-way. A day ticket is EUR 9.90.
  • St. Louis: the SNCF route #11 connects the airport with St. Louis station. Journey time is around 10 minutes and costs EUR 2.50. From St. Louis you can get to Mulhouse. 
  • Freiburg: bus services between the airport and Freiburg are available by Flixbus. The journey time is around 1 hour and costs EUR 22.99 one-way, EUR 45.98 return. Fares are payable in cash directly to the coach driver, online, at ticket outlets or travel agencies.
  • Zürich: bus services between the airport and Zürich are available by Flixbus. The journey time is 1 hour 35 min and costs CHF 14.50 one-way, CHF 29 return. Fares are payable in cash directly to the coach driver, online, at ticket outlets or travel agencies.

Taxi

Taxi stands are located in front of the arrivals hall. Fares to Basel start at CHF 50, to Mulhouse at EUR 45 and around EUR 125 or CHF 340 to Freiburg.
