London Luton Airport - LTN

London, United Kingdom (GB)

Getting into London

Train is quickest, bus is cheapest

To avoid London's notorious traffic, we recommend you take the train. However, if you have plenty of time, you'll save a lot of money by taking the bus, and will avoid having to take a shuttle bus to the train station.

Train

The quickest way into central London is by train from Luton Airport Parkway station, 1.5km away. An East Midlands/Thameslink train will take you to St Pancras in 25/35 minutes and Blackfriars in 45 minutes. First, you'll need to take First Capital Connect's 'Train2Plane' shuttle bus to the train station, which runs every 10 minutes and the journey takes 10 minutes.

Cost: Around GBP 15 to London St Pancras International
Buying tickets: Machines at the station or online. Please keep in mind that it's cash only for the shuttle bus.

Bus

Take the National Express, which runs 24/7, to get to central London. The A1 bus runs to London Victoria Coach Station, the A2 bus runs to London Paddington Station via Baker Street. Alternatively, you can take the Green Line 757 bus (to Brent Cross and Baker Street), but it's likely they will cost you more (GBP 10-12).

Cost: From GBP 7 online, but prices vary considerably depending on how early you book
Location: Outside the main terminal building

Taxi

Luton is quite a distance from London, so a taxi will be very expensive, and is subject to traffic in rush hours. Journey time will be at least one hour.

Cost: Over GBP 100 (plus discretionary 10% tip)
Location:
Taxi rank outside the terminal
