Tampa International Airport - TPA

Tampa, United States of America (US)

Getting around the airport

One main terminal, four airsides and a monorail

Tampa International Airport is located nine miles west of downtown Tampa. The airport has a landside Main Terminal connected by monorail to four airside satellites – A, C, E, and F.

  • The Main Terminal has three levels. Level 1 is baggage claim, Level 2 is departures, and Level 3 is the transfer level where the monorail is. Levels 4-9 is the short-term parking garage.
  • Security checkpoints are located in the airside satellites.
  • Baggage claim is divided into Red (North side) and Blue (South side). There is no direct transfer between them. Take the elevator to Level 2, cross lobby and head back to Level 1.
  • All airsides have one floor with security, shopping, dining, and gates. Airside F serves exclusively international flights.
  • Luggage carts are available for USD 5 at entrances, exits, and baggage claim. Carts are free at TSA inspection area.
  • Free Wi-Fi connection is available throughout TPA airport.

Travelling between terminals

Tampa International Airport was the first airport in the world to deploy a fully automated, driver-free people mover system that connects passengers between the Main Terminal and the four Airsides.
