Getting into Sofia

Train is the best

Train

Sofia Airport Metro Station of Line 1 provides a fast connection to the city centre. A free shuttle is available from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 and the Metro Station between 07:00 and 19:00 hour. After 19:00 the shuttle can be requested at the information desk. The journey time from Sofia Airport to the city centre is approximately 18 minutes.

BUS

-Lines 84 and 184: used to pass through both Terminals and would take their passengers in downtown Sofia. The journey time from the first to the final stops of 84 and 184 bus routes is approximately 35-45 min.

-Line 384: connects Terminal 2–Drujba district (‘Дружба’ in Bulgarian or ‘Comradeship’). The journey takes about 25-30 min. Following the floor marking in red in the public area will show you the way to the bus stops.

Getting around the airport

Two terminals

Sofia Airport is the main international airport of Bulgaria located 10 km east from the centre of the capital city Sofia. The airport has two terminals. The terminals are about 3 km apart, and the airport provides free-of-charge transportation between the two terminal buildings.

- Terminal 1: is for low-cost carriers and charter flights. 
- Terminal 2: is new and operates most of the airlines. The terminal has seven air-bridges (gates A1, B5–9 and C1), 38 check-in desks and has a car park for 820 vehicles.
